I worked with Ella on The Tragedie of 'Lady' Macbeth. Ella has a fun, dynamic and inclusive directing style. She established early on in the process how we all liked to work and made sure that she considered our needs and best way of working as part of the rehearsal plans. She has a great eye for detail whilst keeping the bigger picture in mind and although she had a vision for the play, she was open for us to try new things and always encouraged us to keep playing with the material and embraced new choices. I highly recommend working with Ella. She is fun but professional and a great director.

I was privileged to work with Ella on Agapanthus Production's play 'Tipping Point'. Bringing bags of enthusiasm and innovation to the project, I felt so excited for every rehearsal and knew that, under Ella's vision, we were sure to create a brilliant show. Ella's attention to detail combined with her fantastic imagination allowed me as an actor to really find my place in the world we were creating; no mean feat since 'Tipping Point' was set in a dystopian future! Under Ella's direction, I was able to really emotionally connect with my character, Jen, in an environment which felt supportive and safe, so allowing me to dig into the hardships and heartbreak of the story, without compromising my own mental health. Ella is an excellent ally for any actor or writer, is respectful of text whilst also confident enough in her vision to be able to make decisions to deliver the most dynamic version of the show.
