The Tragedie of "Lady" Macbeth

Writer/ Director

Lady Macbeth is a villain. That's what we've always been told. Shakespeare had it written that this tyrannical, treacherous Queen was driven mad by her desire for power and goaded her husband into committing regicide.

What if Shakespeare was a big misogynistic liar, though?

Set five years before General Macbeth is told of his prophecy by the three 'Weird Sisters' (more slandered women, tut tut), this play uncovers the true Lady Macbeth and her passion for life, dancing and smoking weed... so much weed. The Tragedie of 'Lady' Macbeth tells the true story of this long suffering heroine and her contempt for sovereignty and power. It shows a young princess that cries 'out damned spot' at zits in the mirror not blood on her hands. This play - written by the true, female bard - finally offers redemption to the condemned in an attempt to resurrect this damned, derided Queen.

Pool (No Water)

A unique reunion that takes a surprising twist. When an old friend-turned-famous-artist invites the gang to her new place, they couldn't predict the terrible accident that would occur. As they gather around her hospital bed, an unusual idea strikes them: turning her suffering into art.

Presented by Bath Spa Productions this December; a collaboration between graduating Acting and Theatre, Festival and Event Production students, directed by Kirstie Davis.

Please note that this production is recommended for ages 18 and older due to strong language.

This amateur production of “Pool (No Water)” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk

Hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers are washing up on our shores, and they are treated by our government with the same regard as the rest of the flotsam - like unwanted pollutants. 40 Miles From Here is a verbatim, physical theatre piece by Kent-based artists, telling the stories of the silenced. During a time of great intolerence towards those fleeing from their war-torn homes, 40 Miles From Here holds up a megaphone for the unheard.
